Knowing how many people rely on spice mixes for their dinner, I thought I should recommend one that is actually nutritious. Knorr KOFTA mix is quite delicious and yet quite healthy (when you add the needed ingredients). If you are not able to buy this spice mix, you can also make it yourself: buy regular tomato sauce and spice it up with dry basil, salt, pepper and paprika powder, and include onion and garlic in the original recipe.
Recipe for 3
1 Knorr KOFTA spice mix (includes rice)
350 grams organic minced lean beef
400 grams tomatoes (preferably organic)
1 zucchini (preferably organic)
Just follow the instructions on the package! If you are making your own spice sauce, these are the instructions:
1. Roll minced beef mixed with 1 egg and 4 tablespoons of bread crumbs into small (2cm) meat balls and heat in a pan for 5 minutes on medium heat.
2. Chop up the onion and zucchini and add to the pan. Heat on medium heat until the minced beef has become brown on all sides and zucchini has slightly softened.
3. Chop the tomato and garlic and add to the pan together with 400ml tomato sauce, 2 teaspoons of dry basil, salt and pepper. Heat on medium heat until everything is completely cooked (about 10 minutes).
Serve with the rice (from the package) or better yet, brown rice sprinkled with white & black sesame seeds. Enjoy!
