Cinnamon Sticks are a sweet and tasty dessert that is low in sugar, low in fat and high in beneficial properties of cinnamon. I got the recipe from a friend and in the meanwhile I’ve made it for plenty of friends and they have all enjoyed it!
This dessert only takes 15 minutes to make, so it’s perfect for surprise visits or for a lazy winter night. Eat it with some strawberries or blueberries on the side for a great breakfast (tested & guaranteed, mmm!).
CINNAMON STICKS
Puff pastry, homemade or frozen (I buy it frozen, takes about 5 minutes to defrost since the pieces are small),
Egg, organic, 1 (mixed up with a fork)
Cinnamon powder, 1/2 teaspoon per stick
1. Cut the puff pastry into pieces (I make 3x7cm rectangles but you can make round shapes, star shapes or whatever).
2. Spread the pastry out in an oven tray (which you covered with baking paper). With a kitchen brush (or fork if you don’t have a brush) cover the top of the pastry with egg (gives nice colour and stickiness). Sprinkle with plenty of cinnamon and bake for 10-15 minutes at 180 degrees Celsius. Check on the sticks after 10 minutes just to make sure they don’t burn!
